She was buried on 8 Sep 1950 in Saints Peter & Paul's Catholic Cemetery, Leonore, La Salle Co., Illinois. LEONORE WOMEN DIES SUDDENLY Funeral Services for Miss Elizabeth Knecht to be held Friday Miss Elizabeth Knecht, 72, highly respected and lifelong resident of the community passed away suddenly at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday at the George Knecht home where she resided. She suffered a heart attack Sunday afternoon. The deceased was born in Eagle township Nov 8,1877 to Frank and Anna (Han, Hau) Knecht deceased. Most of her life was spent in Richland township and her home been a mile south of Leonore, now owned by her brother, George, and family, with whom she spent her time when not assisting in various homes in the community. She had been the housekeeper for Rev. M. Gensler for 17 years prior to his demise. Four brothers and one sister survive, Joe of Whittemore, Ia., Conrad of Hudson , Wis., Michael of Streator, Rte 3, George of Leonore, and Mrs. William (Anna) Schmitz of Canyon, Texas. A Brother, Frank, passed away ten years ago and a brother, Theodore of Whittemore., last May. (1950) The body is at the George Knecht home. A requiem mass will be sung in SS. Peter and Paul's church, of which she has been a lifetime member, at nine o'clock Friday morning with burial in the parish cemetery. |
